One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest McMurphy -McMurphy is a distruption to the status quo. -He doesn't respect authority e.g when he speaks to Doctor Spivey his language is informal. -His relationship with Nurse Ratched as he's always the first one to question her power e.g his demand to watch the World Series foils her attempt to exert her control and symbolises the rise of the individual against the system. -Another example of his lack of respect for authority when he enters the Nurse's office without permission.
